Benfica secured the signing of 18-year-old right-back Alex, who represents the juniors of Vitória de Guimarães, for the next five seasons, according to news on Saturday.
According to the newspaper, the defense has already committed to the emblem of the Light for the next five seasons, and its arrival is scheduled for July. In an early stage, Alexandre Pinto will be integrated into Benfica's B team.
Alex is serving his fourth season in Guimaraes and owns the right-back position in the Under-19s and has also represented team B one occasion this season against Freamunde in a game where he played for ten minutes. For the juniors, currently has 23 appearances this season, having scored a goal.
Benfica remain very attentive to promising side-rights, given the likelihood of Nélson Semedo leaving. Clube da Luz has recently signed Portugal's Pedro Pereira and Chile's Simón Ramírez.
