Portugal beats Czech
The National Team U18 won 1-0 to Czech Republic in the last round of the Lisbon International Tournament which was won by Hungary.
The U-18 National Team achieved its first victory in the Lisbon International Tournament and finished third in the competition won by Hungary this afternoon beat the United States 2-1.
Alex Taylor, 89 minutes, scored the solitary goal of the match.
The Czech Republic won the award "Fair Play" and the American Rubio Rubin was named player of the Lisbon International Tournament.
Hélio Sousa in direct speech"Similar to what we did in other meetings, we have a good control of the game and create better scoring opportunities. Build opportunities, in quantity and quality, to leave the lead in every game, but only on this, and now in the last moments, could be at an advantage.
Again presented quality. Today we played against an opponent who, like us, loves to have the ball, unlike what happened in the games with Hungary and the United States who preferred to exits in quick attack.
We continued to grow - we were more consistent and stronger. In today's game we again do things that have already been worked before. This year the work was done in competition, which is great, but the players felt, in the first game, some difficulty in fielding some situations we had been working the previous two seasons. This difficulty has been registered in the first games of the tournaments we have played, but have been corrected from game to game.
The concentration at times is not necessary and it is manifested in the lack of efficacy that we have been presenting. Has there been that have failed, but the team shows that is evolving and I think that in the future, these aspects will be corrected. "
