Benfica won the derby against the eternal rival Sporting and won the Portugal Handball Cup, succeeding ABC as the winner of the competition.
The eagles were always in front and did not give a chance of a reversal to the current two-time national champions, stamping a victory by 31-24, in a game played at the Municipal Pavilion of Peso da Régua.
It is the sixth Portuguese Handball Cup won by Benfica.
