The Portuguese Judo Federation (FPJ) announced this Wednesday the National Team that will participate in the European Championship, in Podgorica, Montenegro, next week. On the first day, 23, 1. Catarina Costa (-48 kg), 2. Raquel Brito (-52 kg) and 3. Miguel Gago (-66 kg) will be in action, with 4. Otari Kvantidze (-73 kg) being the only national representative on the second day, 24. 5.Taís Pina and 6. Bárbara Timo (-70 kg) and 7.João Fernando (-81 kg) will compete on the 25th of April, and the following day Portugal will attack the podium with two judokas who already have Olympic medals, both bronze: 8. Patrícia Sampaio (-78 kg) in Paris'2024 and 9. Jorge Fonseca (-100 kg) in Tokyo'2020. Portugal has won 42 medals in the 30 years of history of the European championships. Fifteen of them were won by Telma Monteiro, who reached the highest place six times
