Between December 17th and 19th, several Benfica athletes competed in the Zonal Youth Tournament, Zona Sul, in Tomar. The results of the red swimmers were excellent, with 23 medals won.
In male or female, red and white triumphs appeared in different styles. Highlight for the first places of Rafael Miguel Mimoso (200 meters and 100 meters breaststroke), Guilherme Fernandes Baptista (200 meters free), David Miguel Morais (200 meters moth) and Leonor Carreiro Rodrigues (1500 meters free).
In total, Benfica achieved 23 medals, specifically five gold, 11 silver and seven bronze.
"It was a weekend full of emotions, where this young team showed character and determination. The unity and team spirit that the team showed throughout the competition should be highlighted. We ended this cycle with a very positive balance", said the coach of the Club, Edgar Silva.
