Sergio Marques was on Sunday, third place at the European Championship of triathlon long distance, in the English town of Weymouth.
The triathlete's Athletic completed the 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 biking and 42 race in 8: 46.51 hours, spending more 4:19 minutes than the winner, the Polish Marek Jaskolka. In second place finished the Slovenian Jaroslav Kovacic, the 3:19 of the European champions.
In the women's sector, Vanessa Pereira was seventh in 10: 10.20 hours, almost 40 more minutes than the Swedish Camilla Lindholm, who was crowned champion continental.
In the age group of competition between the 45 and 49, the Portuguese Paulo Margarido was second fastest, with 9 log: 51.00 hours, being surpassed only by Joe Duckworth (9: 41.10).
