#Race @walk 50 km #Portugal Ines Henriques 36 yrs old with a new World Record time in the 50km #Marcha

Inês Henriques set out to beat the world record of the 50 km Walk   and managed!

In Porto de Mós (Leiria) the athlete from Rio Maior completed the distance in 4 hours, 8 minutes and 25 seconds.

It was during the National Distance Championships, for the first time open to ladies in Portugal .

This is the first year that the 50km march is open to women's competition,

The world's best mark belonged to Sweden's Monica Svensson since 2007, but was not recognized as the IAAF (International Athletics Federation) record.

Inês Henriques is 36 years old. He has been for three times in  the Olympic Games, the last one in Rio 2016, where he obtained a 12th place in the 20 kilometers march.
