The Portuguese athlete Mariana Machado finished Saturday the women's juniors of Crosse of Edinburgh in second place, representing the selection of Europe under 20.
Mariana Machado finished the four kilometers of the Scottish race in 14.13 minutes, three seconds ahead of the winner, the North American Kelsey Chmiel, with Cari Hughes in fourth place, finishing as the best representative of the British team.
Organized since 2005, the Edinburgh Crosse debuted the team competition format in 2011, with seniors gathering some of the big cross country names as the race allows qualifying for the Worlds of the sport.
