Seventh on a global scale in 2023

Benfica occupies 7th place in the IFFHS ranking of women's football teams, based on performance in national and international competitions in the last calendar year.

It's not just in Europe, on a global scale we can also see Benfica's growth in women's football. In the annual ranking carried out by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), for 2023, the Inspiradoras were in 7th position.

The IFFHS released on Saturday, January 6th, the Women's Club World Ranking 2023, the results of which are based on the performance of teams in national and international competitions between the months of January (1st) and December (day 31).


In a list that mirrors the top 200 in the world, Benfica is positioned in 7th place, with a total of 336 points, having only been surpassed by Barcelona (1st) – current European women's champion in title –, Lyon ( 2nd), Corinthians (3rd), Chelsea (4th), Wolfsburg (5th) and Real Madrid (6th).


In the year 2022, it should be noted that in the top 40, the Inspiradoras occupied 12th position, with 269 points.


At European level, it is also worth remembering that, in the most recent update of the UEFA women's team ranking, Benfica rose to 12th place.
