Auriol Dongmo won the bronze medal in the shot put this Sunday at the European Short Track Athletics Championships Apeldoorn2025, in the Netherlands, with a throw of 19.26 meters, while Jessica Inchude came fifth.
The 34-year-old two-time European champion launched the device at 19.26 seconds, her best time of the year, in her second test, and achieved third place on the podium, behind the Dutch Jessica Schilder, who added the title under the roof to the two continental outdoor titles, and the German Yemisi Ogunleye, gold in Paris2024, who managed 20.69 and 19.56, respectively.
Also Portuguese Jessica Inchude, 28 years old, finished in fifth place, with 18.91 seconds in her second attempt, after being fourth in Istanbul2023.
Auriol Dongmo secured the fourth Portuguese medal in Apeldoorn2025, the second today, after Salomé Afonso added bronze in the 3,000 meters to silver in the 1,500, a distance in which Isaac Nader also achieved bronze.
This record surpasses the total number of 'metals' won by Portugal in 'indoor' European Championships, surpassing the three from Valencia1998, Vienna2002, Torun2021 and Istanbul2023, but without any champion title.
