Portuguese Jaime Faria advanced to the main round in the  Wimbledon's third Grand Slam of the season after beating Japan's Rei Sakamoto in four sets in the third and final round of qualifying.

The 22-year-old Lisbon, 97th in the ATP rankings and second in the qualifying series, beat the world number 148 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4 in two hours and 33 minutes, guaranteeing his seventh consecutive appearance num main frame of a 'major'

Jaime Faria continues unstoppable and is one step closer to rushing for the Wimbledon main squad. The Portuguese number 2, 97th in the ATP rankings, beat Frenchman Luka Pavlovic (218th) with the parties 6-4 and 6-4 in the third and decisive round of qualifying, facing the winner of the duel between Aziz Dougaz (755th) and Rei Sakamoto (148.o).

The 22-year-old Lisbon aims to repeat in 2025 at the All England Club and compete in the main squad of a Grand Slam for the seventh consecutive tournament. Last year he lost to Lorenzo Sonego in the 1st round.
