Constanca Sequeira waiting for news
Catarina Bernardino, an athlete from the women's Handball team of Sport Lisbon and Benfica, has been called up to represent Portugal at the Women's Under-18 World Championships, which will be held between July 29 and August 9 in Romania.
The national team has called 16 players for the final phase of preparation, which contemplates two stages in Maia before leaving for the competition.
The second is scheduled for the period between 18 and 23 July. After a short break, the Selection will return to concentrate on Maia from July 26, finally preparing for the competition

Mariana Teixeira new Benfica Handball Women's Team
Sport Lisbon and Benfica reports that the contracts of Andebol players Madalena Pereira, Maria Unjanque, Alexandra Shunu, Mariana Costa and Sofia Ferreira expired on Thursday, June 30
Madalena Pereira turned seven seasons old in the senior team and is going to embrace a career related to her academic training, being honored by the Club on June 4, after becoming part of the glorious history of women's conquests.
Mariana Costa and Maria Unjanque joined the Club in the summer of 2021 and helped them win five National Championships, four Portugal Cups, three Super Cups and a Federation Cup.
Already Alexandra Shunu strengthened in 2023/24 and was tied to winning three National Championships, two Portugal Cups, two Supercups and a Federation Cup, while Sofia Ferreira, Benfica player from 2024/25, won two Championships Nationals, two Portugal Cups and a Super Cup.
The Club would like to thank the five players and leave their votes of success for the future.
