The athletes of Benfica competed, between 24 and 26 July, in the 111th edition of the Portugal Championships in track and field, which ran at the Estádio Universitário. The eagles won 14 medals: 9 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
SUNDAY 4 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
No. 3rd and last day of the Portugal Championships, 4 Benfiquistas climbed the podium, surpassing the extracompetição athletes who participated.
Arialis Martinez became the national champion in the 200 meters, winning the final with a time of 23.30 seconds. In the men's 200 meters, Cuban Reynier Mena finished 1st in 20.14 seconds, but is not, however, eligible for the national title.
Assim, Pedro Afonso, 3rd classified in the race with 20.61 seconds, won the silver medal of the two championships in Portugal
