Portuguese women's Premier League will be the first in Europe to have VAR next season.
The FPF Board of Directors approved this Friday the investment necessary for the introduction of video refereeing technology in the next edition of Liga BPI, making it the first European league to have VAR in all its games.
As already happens in Liga Bwin and will also happen in Liga Portugal 2 Sabseg, VAR in Liga BPI will be centralized in Cidade do Futebol.
It should be remembered that the technology is already used in women's football in Portugal, in the finals of competitions such as the Portuguese Cup, Super Cup and League Cup, having been the first country to have VAR in an official women's competition worldwide.
In international football, only the United States has been using full VAR in its main competition since last March, with Brazil now starting to use it from the quarterfinals of the championship
