Nuno Borges qualified this Thursday for the first time in his career for the quarter-finals of the Estoril Open, by defeating the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, third seed, in two sets.
On the central court of the Estoril Tennis Club, the national number one and 62nd in the world prevailed against the 24th ranked player in the ATP rankings by scores of 7-6(4) and 6-3, in one hour and 37 minutes .
In the quarter-finals, Nuno Borges, 27 years old, who had never made it past the second round, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Fils, who eliminated João Sousa in the first round, and Chilean Cristian Garín.
