Premier League International Cup 2024/2025 - Fase de Grupos Grupo B
Benfica's B team will once again be present at the Premier League International Cup, and the group stage schedule for the 2024/25 edition has been announced.
The Eagles, in Group B, will face Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and West Ham United, in what is the Club's eighth participation in the prestigious international youth football tournament.
The competition will feature 12 English teams and 12 clubs from other European countries, divided into three groups of eight teams. In this phase, each European team will face only English opponents and vice versa, with all games taking place in England.
The top two teams in each group, as well as the two third-placed teams with the highest score, will advance to the quarter-finals. The knockout phase will be decided in just one game, with extra time and penalties if necessary.
The teams will be made up of Under-23 players, with the exception of a maximum of three outfield players and one goalkeeper.
Looking back at previous editions, Benfica faced Sunderland in 2016/17, West Ham United in 2017/18 and Blackburn Rovers in 2019/20.
