UAE Emirates was confirmed this Thursday for the 51st Volta ao Algarve, with João Almeida being one of the team's bets for the race that takes place between 19 and 23 February. This confirms the news reported about the presence of the Emirates team and the Portuguese cyclist.
The number one team in the world ranking in 2024, UAE Emirates will be in the 'Algarvia' for the eighth consecutive year, having already won in 2019 with the then promising Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.
UAE Emirates is the eighth WorldTour team confirmed to participate in the 51st edition, joining INEOS, Intermarché-Wanty, Bahrain Victorious, EF Education-EasyPost, dsm-firmenich PostNL, Alpecin-Deceunink and Groupama-FDJ.
In addition to the team of the fourth-placed team in the Tour2024 and fellow Portuguese riders Rui and Ivo Oliveira and António Morgado, Tudor, from the second division of world cycling, was also confirmed today for the Volta ao Algarve.
