Diogo Ribeiro will travel to Singapore, where the World Championships will take place between July 27 and August 3, accompanied by fellow Olympian Camila Rebelo, current European champion in the 200 backstroke, who will also compete in the 100 backstroke. Francisca Martins, in the 200 and 400 freestyle, and Diana Durães, in the longest distances of pure swimming -- the 800 and 1,500 freestyle -- complete the group of Portuguese national team members. The delegation will be headed by Ricardo Antunes, the National Technical Director of pure swimming, the FPN reports in a brief statement.
Diogo Ribeiro was very pleased with the time he achieved in the 50-meter freestyle final (21s67), which earned him the European under-23 title this Friday in Samorin, Slovakia.
