Rui Oliveira will represent Portugal in France World Track
The debut of the Portuguese cycling track in elite World Championships will be carried out by Rui Oliveira, next Thursday, February 19, in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, near Paris, France.
Portugal secured for the first time, the World Cup Elite, being among the top 24 nations in the international scratch discipline. The national selector, Gabriel Mendes, called the European and world medalist in the junior category, Rui Oliveira.
"It will be a very demanding test since it will only be attended by the representatives of the 24 best countries in the world. However I am confident and I feel fine physically, a place in the Top 10 would be nice since I'm probably the youngest runner in the race, "said Rui Oliveira.
