The Tour of the Algarve, which has been upgraded in the ranking of the International Cycling Union (from 2.1 to 2.HC), will be held from 15 to 19 February.
According to the statement from the Portuguese Cycling Federation (FPC), the 43rd edition of the race will begin with a link between Albufeira and Lagos.
In the second stage the course starts in Lagoa to the top of Fóia, in Monchique, leaving for the third stage 20 kilometers in individual counter, in Sagres.
The fourth stage will be between Almodôvar and Tavira, before the race consecrates its winner in the top of Malhão, in the fifth and last run, that will leave Loulé.
Upon entering the category 2.HC, the Tour of the Algarve will be the most important cycling event in the country, ahead of even the Tour of Portugal.
