Sporting revalidated the European women's track and field championship title by winning the 2018 edition of the Champions Cup on Sunday after finishing their opening day in third place on Saturday.
The lionesses completed the 20 races with 166 points against 164 of the Enka Turks in a competition in the final event, the 4x400 meters, which Sporting snatched in 3.32.62 minutes, with the formation of Turkey in third place.
In addition to this test, the green and white won the 800 meters, by Noelie Yarigo (2.04.65 minutes), the disc, by Irina Rodriguez (57.59 meters), the length, by Evelise Veiga (6.54 meters) and the 100 meters hurdles, by Olimpia Barbosa (13,74).
Above all, for Evelise Veiga, who beat the national record of under-23 of the length and happened to be the second Portuguese of all time, only behind Naide Gomes (7,12, to 29 of July of 2008, in Monaco ).
In the other events of the day, Lorena Bazolo was second in the 200 meters (23.47 seconds), Sílvia Cruz third in the dart (47.31 meters) and Sara Catarina Ribeiro third in the 3,000 meters (9.22,22 minutes).
The third place of the race was occupied by the Spanish of the Values Esports, with 160 points.
