Jorge Jesus will bring his technical team. The issue has already been discussed and there is agreement on this matter. Thus, João de Deus, Tiago Oliveira, Mário Monteiro and Márcio Sampaio (physical trainers) and Gil Henriques and Rodrigo Araújo (analysts), will work with JJ at Benfica. Of these, only Mário Monteiro was with the amateur in his passage through Luz, between 2009/10 and 2014/15.
Evandro Mota, motivational consultant in the red and now in Flamengo, should not return to Benfica. At this moment, the ‘mental coach’ will not be receptive to leaving Brazil. Evandro worked three years at Luz and one at Sporting with JJ. Marco Pedroso, assistant to the Benfica technical team, will hardly work with the amateur. The two became incompatible when the coach left for Alvalade, five years ago.
