#UEFA #ConferenceLeague to start in 2021/22 #Portugal with 3 teams in the #CL two in qualify

The 2021/22 season will bring the inaugural edition of UEFA's third club competition, the Europa Conference League, as announced last year. This new European competition will feature the fourth and fifth place in the next edition of Liga NOS. Now, with the rise of Portugal in the ranking during the past season, the Liga NOS now has Champions for the top three, which means that only the winner of the Portuguese Cup will be qualified for the Europa League. There is, of course, the chance that one of the top three in Portugal will also be the winner of the Cup in 2020/21, the Europa League spot will then move to the fourth place in the championship, as will the Europa Conference League places to include sixth place. This is how the European qualification will work for the next seasons in Portugal: 1st place - Direct access to the Champions League group stage 2nd place - Direct access to the Champions League group stage 3rd place - Access to the 3rd Champions League qualifying round 4th place - 3rd Europa League League qualifying round OR Europa League Group Stage (if the Portuguese Cup winner is among the first three places) 5th place - 2nd Europa Conference League qualifying round OR 3rd qualifying round (if winner of the Portuguese Cup is among the first three places) 6th place - nothing to score OR 2nd qualifying round of the Europa Conference League (if the Portuguese Cup winner is among the first three places) This new UEFA competition will be played from 2021/22 and will last, until further notice, three years, as this is the number of seasons that make up each UEFA competition cycle.
