National women's futsal champion Marta Costa has extended her contractual relationship with Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The renewal was seen as a "vote of confidence" and the goalkeeper said it was "a pride" to continue wearing the eagles' jersey.
"I'm very happy. It's another year and a vote of confidence. It's a pride to wear this jersey, to be with these athletes and team. Last year we were able to show our union and I hope that next year it will be the same and that we will be able to bring more happiness to the Benfica fans", commented Marta Costa, at the time of the renovation, in statements to BTV.

After seven seasons with an eagle on her chest, in 2020/21 the 22-year-old guard represented the Leões de Porto Salvo and returned to the Club in 2021/22, now heading for her ninth season with Benfica.
"It's been a few seasons wearing this jersey and working with the same people, which has brought good things", highlighted the goalkeeper.
In the season that ended, the women's futsal team became five-time champion, won the Supercup and was in the final of the League Cup and the Portuguese Cup, trophies to which Marta Costa aims for 2022/23.
"We want to win what was left behind. It's going to be that way. The Cups we left behind must be ours. We're going to work for that and to make the sixth championship", she assured.
