Mariana Vargem succeeded Ana Mafalda Ferreira, three times winner of the female variant, and highlighted the long history of São Silvestre da Amadora to reinforce her pride in the success she achieved.
"It's, without a doubt, the best way to end the year. I decided about a week and a half ago that I was going to do this race, I went to São Silvestre in Lisbon and as I felt good, I took advantage and came here to give it my all. I wasn't expecting to win, but I'm very happy with this result”, he told Lusa, moments before climbing the podium after winning the race in 34.41 minutes, beating Emília Pisoeiro (35.01) and Susana Cunha (35.43), both linked to Recreio de Águeda
