Cespedes will get $22.5 million in 2017, $29 million in '18, $29 million in '19 and $29.5 million in '20, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
The average annual value of the contract is $27.5 million, which is the most for an outfielder and is tied with Alex Rodriguez's deal with the Yankees. It's the second-highest average annual value for a position player after Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera, and the contract ties for the highest average annual salary for a free-agent position player.
Cespedes, 31, hit .280/.354/.530 with 31 home runs and 86 RBIs in 132 games for the Mets last season.
