@Cycling U23 #Portugal national team qualified to the @WorldChampionships with the win by rui Oliveira, his also a U20 @Indoorcycling @Euro champion

U23 Ivo Oliveira wins the trial stage and Portugal qualified for this year World Championships The Portuguese Ivo Oliveira won today the prologue to the Peace Race, a sub-23 Nations Cup event that takes place in the Czech Republic until Sunday. The victory in today's individual exercise assured Portugal the qualification for the U23 World Championship events.
In a course of only 2 kilometers, in Krnov, asking for the explosive capacity that Ivo Oliveira has demonstrated, especially on the track, the Team Portugal cyclist was the strongest among the squad of the best under-23s in the world, guaranteeing the right to Leave with the yellow jersey for the first stage in line.
Ivo Oliveira completed the 2 kilometers in 2m13s, the same record as the second and third ranked, beating them in the tiebreaker by hundredths of a second. The second was Danish Casper Pedersen, 3 centavos of Ivo, and the third was the Luxembourgish Kevin Genets, at 80 hundredths.
The second best Portuguese was João Almeida, 29th, to 7 seconds, followed by Tiago Antunes, 54th, 9 seconds, Jorge Magalhães, 59th, 10 seconds, David Ribeiro, 107th, 17 Seconds, and Gonçalo Carvalho, 113th, to 21 seconds. Portugal is in fifth collective position.
