The Portuguese cyclist Ivo Oliveira won the World Cup in the discipline of points race, being third, this Friday, in the last scoring event, disputed in Minsk, thus ensuring Portugal's qualification for the World Cup.

Third place in Friday's race is Portugal's best ever place in World Cup races, with Ivo Oliveira (41 points) being beaten only by Dutchman Jan Willem van Schip, first (75 points), and by Lok Cheung King of Hong Kong, second (50 points).
After the fourth place in the Pruszków stage, Poland, third place put Ivo Oliveira to close the World Cup with 775 points, 50 more than the Greek Christos Volikakis and 135 more than Lok Cheung King
