Bruno Varela won the award for best young player for the month of December.
In the vote promoted by the Players' Union, the 23-year-old Benfica goalkeeper won 14 percent of the vote, surpassing Sporting players Gelson Martins (13.21) and Bruno Fernandes (13.14).
Varela thus breaks the hegemony of Bruno Fernandes, who had been voted the best young League player in the first four months of the season.
In Liga 2, Ricardo Tavares (Oliveirense) won the vote with 17.54 percent of voters' preference. Chiquinho (Académica, 13.73) and Rafael Barbosa (Sporting B, 10.97) closed the podium.
