According to the newspaper O Jogo, Jorge Jesus intends to net seven million euros to extend his contract with Flamengo. After an unforgettable season with Mengão, the Portuguese coach has a contract until June 2020 and has already informed Flamengo's management of his demands to extend the contractual bond for another season. According to the same publication, the Brazilian club made a counter offer, offering about 5.8 million euros net, leaving just over one million euros to separate the conclusion of the deal.
