Quinas team closes the season against the World Champions and the selection of Nigeria.

This Thursday, Francisco Neto announced the call for the last games of the National Women's Team A in the 2020/21 season.

Portugal will face the United States team, the current World Champion, on June 10th [19h38 locals, plus six hours in Lisbon], at the BBVA Compass Stadium, in Houston, Texas. There follows a meeting with Nigeria three days later, on June 13, at 6:15 pm local time, in the same stadium.

This double journey will serve for the Team of Quinas to prepare for the qualification for the 2023 World Cup. In September, Portugal will begin to fight with the teams of Germany, Serbia, Turkey, Israel and Bulgaria for their presence in the next World Cup, whose final phase will have place in Australia and New Zealand.

In the list of 23 players published by the National Coach, the highlight falls on the call of Lúcia Alves and Beatriz Cameirão, players of SL Benfica who only integrated stages of the Women's National Team B of Portugal. Also noteworthy is the return of goalkeeper Bárbara Santos and forward Mélissa Gomes.

The national delegation is concentrated on June 6, at the Hotel TRYP Aeroporto, and travels to Houston at 5:00 am on the 7th, with a stopover in Amsterdam. Arrival on US soil is scheduled for 1:10 pm local time (plus six hours in mainland Portugal).

Portugal faced the powerful American team on nine occasions, having come out of these clashes always at a disadvantage. The last clash between the two teams took place on September 3, 2019, on American soil, with the USA beating Portugal 3-0, in a game in which Carli Lloyd scored twice and Lindsey Horan also scored.

The Portuguese internationals have never met forces with Nigeria, an opponent they will meet on June 13.
