CDUL beat CR São Miguel 67-12 in a match from the 10th round of the Top 10 Honor Division. In the closing match of the first round of the national rugby championship, the Universitários scored 10 tries, while the Bulldogs only reached the tryline twice.
Still with a match behind, against the leader Belenenses (37 points), CDUL added an offensive bonus point and moved up to 5th place (21 pts), behind Agronomia (27 pts) and the front trio, Direito ( 30 pts), Benfica (35 pts) and XV do Restelo.
Académica (18 pts) closes the sixth and final place that will give access to the champion qualification play-off. After CDUL's triumph, Cascais moved to seventh. CR Lousã is eighth, CR São Miguel, ninth and CDUP remains in 10th and last place without scoring.
In the next round, the lawyers host Cascais, Belenenses hosts the agronomists, Académica faces CDUP at home and CR Lousã hosts CR São Miguel. Benfica and CDUL have a break
