Sporting saw the Lisbon Municipal Assembly recognize last Friday, Sporting with 24 national titles, instead of 20 claimed by the Alvalade club, following the unanimously approved vote of praise to salute and praise the Lisbon emblem for winning the 2023/2024 title.
Although such a decision does not fall within the scope of the local authority (only the Portuguese Football Federation has the power to do so), the Municipal Assembly decided:
«1 - Salute and praise Sporting Clube de Portugal for winning its 24th National Men's 11-a-side Football Championship;
Sporting will have a total of 24
