Mets RA Dickey and David Wright selected to the All Star game

David Wright
Mets righthanded pitcher R.A. Dickey and third baseman David Wright were selected to the 2012 National League All-Star team. Both players were selected by the Players Ballot - a vote of the players, managers and coaches. The 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be held at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on Tuesday, July 10.

Dickey, 37, who leads the majors with 12 wins, is third with a 2.15 ERA and 116 strikeouts, was named to his first All-Star team. Dickey has won 10 straight decisions and went 5-0 with a 0.93 ERA in six June starts. The righthander became the third pitcher in Mets history to earn 12 wins prior to July 1, joining Seaver, who did it twice (1969 & 1970) and Bobby Jones (1997).
