The Reopening Race, to be held next Sunday, in Sangalhos, Anadia, will be disputed by a range of foreground runners, bringing together a large part of the stars of the national squad and some luxury emigrants from Portuguese cycling. The race is scored for the Portuguese Cup Santa Casa Games.
The Portuguese teams present themselves with some of the main specialists in time trial of the internal squad, runners capable of fighting for the triumph in the individual exercise of 22 kilometers, starting at the High Performance Center of Anadia and arriving at Rua da Fonte Nova, in Sangalhos.
Among the candidates of the Portuguese continental teams are men such as Alejandro Marque (Tuna General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel), Gustavo César Veloso (W52-FC Porto), Rafael Reis (Feirense), Sergei Shilov (Aviludo-Louletano) or Tiago Machado ( Efapel).
The Reopening Race will also be an opportunity to see four WorldTour runners in Portugal, Rúben Guerreiro (EF Pro Cycling), Ivo Oliveira, Rui Costa and Rui Oliveira (UAE Team Emirates), but also José Neves, ProTeam time trial specialist Burgos BH.
The first runner to hit the road will be Pedro Andrade (Hagens Berman Axeon), at 3 pm. Rui Costa closes the starting list at 4:32 pm.
The itinerary starts at the epicenter of high velocipedic performance in Portugal, passing through Vale do Estevão, Mogofores, Paredes de Bairro, Ancas, Amoreira da Gândara and Fogueira, before returning to Sangalhos.
The route is essentially flat, although it includes some tops that incorporate demand and breaks in rhythm, balancing the balance between pure rollers and counter-watchmakers who need some toughness to make a difference.
The test will take place with enhanced health security measures compared to what was customary before the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. Fans will not have access to the reserved areas of departure and arrival, with contact between the corridors and elements outside the "caravan" being restricted. Sport enthusiasts can, however, watch the race live, and must be distributed along the route, so as not to create large clusters, respecting the health regulations in force in the country and the cycling fan's deflation manual.
