Benfica's Under-14 women's football team won, this Saturday, April 8, the Ibercup Cascais 2023 tournament.
In the group stage, the young Benfica players played three games and recorded as many victories against FutbolFem Es (16-0), Sporting (2-0) and Rio Tinto (2-1).
Group winner, Benfica faced the 4th ranked in the semi-finals. In the reunion with the Spanish FutbolFem Es, another victory for the Sub-14 of the eagles, this time by 7-1.
Arriving at the final, the Benfica team faced Rio Tinto. There was equality (2-2) in regular time and, to define who would be awarded the competition trophy, a penalty shoot-out took place. Benfica was more accurate (4-2), and the athletes collected the laurels of champions in the Sub-14 level.
In this tournament, the following players competed with an eagle on their chest: Lara Ferreira, Matilde Rosa, Raquel Vitorino, Íris Fernandes, Sofia Guerreiro, Carolina Delgado, Francisca Fernandes, Ariana Schafer, Madalena Loução, Inês Varela, Leonor Alves, Laura Cosme, Beatriz Pereira, Catarina Pereira and Laura Rilho.
