Rui Pinto, from Sporting, and Mariana Machado, from Sp. Braga, were crowned winners this Sunday of the 30th edition of the São Silvestre race in Porto, which had around 16 thousand entrants, of 51 nationalities.
In the 10-kilometre race, which started and finished on Avenida dos Aliados, Rui Borges 'avenged' his second place in the previous edition and won the men's category, with a time of 30.01 minutes, beating Miguel Borges (Sporting de Braga), the previous winner and now relegated to second place, by one second, and João Amaro (Benfica), once again third, by nine.
Among the women, Mariana Machado confirmed her favouritism and revalidated her victory in the event, in 33.21 minutes, beating Susana Godinho Santos (Recreio Desportivo de Águeda), with 33.50, and Carla Martinho (Recreio Desportivo de Águeda), with 34.54, who completed the podium.
