now out of the Australia Open
but with a nice pay
More than deserved day off for 🇵🇹 Jaime Faria. 😎✌️
The Portuguese pocketed more than R$250,000 at #AusOpen (before taxes). More than he had earned in his entire career so far.
Portuguese tennis player Jaime Faria qualified this Thursday for the main draw of the Australian Open, beating Estonian Mark Lajal in three stages at the end of the classification.
The first set was even, but it was 21-year-old Faria, 17th seed in the qualifiers, who broke Lajal's serve and won 4-6.
The Estonian, also 21 years old and 234th in the ATP rankings, responded in the second half, which he won 6-2.
The Lisbon native, 124th in the world, ended up closing the match, in two hours and six minutes, with 4-6 in the third set.
