Cycling 34th Edition Grand Prix Abimota Aveiro Region from Santiago Compostela Spain to Aveiro Portugal

The 34th edition of the Grand Prix Abimota-Aveiro Region was presented yesterday in Ferreiros , Anadia and will for the road 8-10 of June, being the first step between the emblematic city of Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, Galicia region with great connection to the economic and touristic region of Aveiro, followed by the second stage, as in Portugal, Minho region, departing from the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira and arrival in Viana do Castelo, ending the third day with the now classic route Municipalities in the region of Aveiro.



To João Pires, president of Abimota this issue "aims to show that entrepreneurship overlaps with periods of difficulty keeping our commitment to link the Grand Prix this region, making it a promotional vehicle for excellence and quality without breaks" . A bet reiterated by Ribau Esteves, president of the Executive Council of the Region of Aveiro, for whom "this institutional partnership, which is at its ends, with a national industry association, has proved to be a source of unity among all counties and an excellent promotional vehicle tourism in the region. This edition of the race also gambled on strengthening its international component, with 15 teams in four different countries. At six professional teams Portuguese (continental level) are joined by three Spanish (BH-BURGOS, Supermarkets Froiz, repeaters and Diputacion Leon Arte en-Transfer) and Ecuadorian RPM Team Start Paraguay, Ecuador and Paraguay. The squad, which will have about 110 participants, will also count 4 Portuguese club teams (under 23) - (Liberty, Maia, José Maria Nicolau and Anicolor)!

As already mentioned, the first stage , on 8 June, takes place entirely in Spanish soil, leaving the legendary Plaza Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela and Vigo arrival, after traveling about 130 kilometers.

This city receives a promotional event of the Entity Regional Tourism Center of the Ria de Aveiro. The stages on Saturday and Sunday, already in the country and will be tough test for athletes present. So the day we will have the match in 09 Cerveira, receiving a route of 190km Minho Gerês by up to Viana do Castelo, end of this stage.

 The last day is totally dedicated to the region of Aveiro and almost 180km give room for, from Oliveira do Bairro platoon scroll all eleven municipalities in the region of Aveiro, even passing by Oliveira de Azeméis and Vale de Cambra, finishing Estarreja .

This event symbolizes the cooperation between the business sector and municipalities, private and public entities such as the Tourism Centre Portugal, enhancing efforts to keep alive an event like the GP Cycling "Abimota / Aveiro Region" and the promotion of bicycle use. The institutional and financial investment that the Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Aveiro and his eleven municipalities associates make this Grand Prix Cycling strengthening a commitment to promote the region and the bike.
